Volunteer Opportunities

     There are many volunteer opportunities available at Tranquil Oaks that are both fun and rewarding. You will be given the ability to shape your own volunteer experience by choosing what you want to do as one of our volunteers. Listed below are common opportunities made available to our volunteers.

Direct PATIENT CARE 

The direct patient care volunteer will assist the team with patient care in the accordance with the plan of care. Duties may include:

• Visiting patients' homes to offer companionship
• Providing practical help (e.g. light housekeeping, laundry, gardening) to lessen the family stress and relieve the caregiver
• Helping with errands such as picking up groceries
• Delivering supplies to the patient in their home
• Creating art or playing music at the bedside of the patient
• Reporting to the team on the needs of the patient and family

Administrative Support

The administrative support volunteer will assist the team by providing clerical support in our offices. Duties may include:

• Data entry
• Maintaining filing systems
• Mailing, photocopying, scanning, faxing
• Answering and directing phone calls
